Trees for Troops

The Indiana/Illinois annual Winter meeting will be held on Friday, January 26th and Saturday, January 27th at the Boone County Fairgrounds in Lebanon, Indiana.

We are so excited for this meeting as we have a stellar line-up of speakers this year. Please download, print, and send completed registration in attend this event. We are shouting a huge THANK YOU to Fort Wayne office of Indiana Farm Bureau for their sponsorship this year. We are able to host multiple experts in the field of Christmas Tree's this year thanks to Indiana Farm Bureau, including but not limited to Bill Lindberg, an expert Christmas Tree Educator from Michigan State University, and Andrew Bosserman, CPA, who specializes in Christmas Tree and Timber Tax. This is also a wonderful time to learn from each other with plenty of round-table discussions, and time to visit with fellow farmers.

Indiana State Fair will begin Friday, July 28, 2023 and will continue until Sunday, August 20, 2023. The Indiana Christmas Tree Growers Association will once again host a booth located in the Ag/Hort/Mercantile building at the State Fair Grounds. The fair will be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays of each week.

Anyone interested in volunteering to work the booth should contact the ICTGA via the website.

Stop by and check out the fabulous display as well as the beautiful trees entered from around the state.

The Indiana Christmas Tree Growers Association members once again donated trees to be delivered by FedEx to over 75 bases and stations located throughout the United States. ICTGA board member Lance Sambol of Sambol’s Tree Farm served as the Trees for Troops state coordinator for two pickup locations in Indiana. Joe Hensler and Scott Heeren provided a FedEx pickup location at Hensler Nursery near Hamlet in the north central part of the state. Rex and Janice Zenor of Piney Acres Farm at Fortville served as the central Indiana area FedEx pickup location.

In addition to ICTGA members donating trees for the program, several tree farms collected donations for the Trees for Troops program.
